Acorn TV Keeps Buffering
Reduce interruptions caused by network performance.
Identify the source of the problem
First identify whether the problem follows one device, one network, or the account itself. Troubleshooting in that order helps avoid unnecessary reinstalls and repeated sign-in attempts. Device menus differ by model and app release.
Use the verified Acorn TV application or website, and check the current supported-device list before installing or updating anything. If you subscribed through a device marketplace, account and billing settings may be controlled by that marketplace instead of Acorn TV directly.
Choose the right diagnostic path
For playback, compare Wi-Fi and wired connectivity when possible, and test more than one title before clearing app data.
Recommended troubleshooting sequence
- Run a network speed and stability check.
- Pause competing downloads and streams.
- Restart the router and streaming device if safe to do so.
- Try wired Ethernet or stronger Wi-Fi coverage.
Run a confirmation test
Try the same action again, then compare it with a second supported device or a different title where relevant. Note what changed: a device-only failure often points to local app settings, while failures across devices can indicate network, subscription, or service-side conditions. Do not repeatedly change unrelated settings once a test succeeds.
What to record before contacting support
Keep a short incident record: what you tried, the exact message, your device model, app version, network type, and whether another title works. For subscriptions, also note which merchant bills you; do not include payment details. Use the official Acorn TV Help Center for account-specific questions.
